Mission
Alveos gathers public metrics from places you can check yourself — VS Code Marketplace, Open VSX, GitHub Releases, and others. Marketplaces often keep history for only 30, 60, or 90 days. Alveos stores daily snapshots longer; the visible span follows the plan (Look 30 days through Studio three years). One login. Downloads, acquisition, and active installs are not added into one number.
Origin
The foundation came from day-to-day development work. Core architecture and concept carry the handwriting of Nejat Philip Eryiğit, Diplom-Informatiker with more than 25 years in DevOps, backend, and systems architecture. The tool grew from the ready-4-it software studio’s need to measure its own distribution. Intellectual property and technical vision rest there.
Data protection
Controller in Luxembourg, hosting in Germany. Alveos does not sell the metrics and does not use Beacon for cross-site tracking. What a vendor does not publish is not estimated. Provenance, gaps, and exports are in Methodology.
Operations
Dr. phil. Serap Kuşu-Eryiğit is the site operator and technically responsible: administration, sales, licenses, customer requests. For updates and technical delivery she draws on an established IT network. Nejat remains named as originator — in this text and in the footer.
