Alveos

Frequently asked questions

Answers about data retention, downgrades, access periods, and product connections.

What happens to my data when I downgrade?

Nothing is deleted, truncated, rewritten, or detached. The lower tier only changes visible history, available features, and whether new apps or members can be added.

How long is my data kept after a downgrade?

A downgrade has no deletion deadline. Data remains stored while the workspace exists. The visible history is 30 days on Look, 365 on Plate, 730 on Birdsview, and 1,095 on Studio. Account deletion and legally required cleanup remain exceptions.

What if I already have more apps or members than the lower tier allows?

Existing product bindings and members remain intact. New bindings or invitations are blocked until capacity is available again or the workspace is upgraded.

What happens when a prepaid access period ends?

A 30-day read grace keeps the paid history visible. Paid writes stop during grace. After grace, Look visibility and limits apply, without deleting the retained data.

Does an upgrade restore older history?

Yes. Renewal or upgrade makes retained history visible again up to the new tier window and re-enables the included features and capacity.

Can I export my data?

Self-service export is available on paid tiers. Look users can request an export from support.

When does Alveos history begin?

Usually on the day a marketplace, repository, channel, Zebra summary, or Beacon app is connected. Alveos does not invent earlier daily values; supported seed imports only establish an initial value.

When is data actually deleted?

Not because of a downgrade or access expiry. Deletion occurs after an explicit workspace or account deletion request, or when legal and operational retention rules require it.
